On November 22 in Macao, Manny Pacquiao will guard his WBO subject against unbeaten New Yorker Joe Algieri. Pacquiao looks to sleeping pad his banking account and set far more distance amongst him plus the Marquez tragedy of a few years ago. To accomplish this, he will need to overcome an energetic and speedy fisted youngster with a lot of moxie in Algieri, who's looking to assemble off his occupation-finest earn--a 06 break up selection in excess of seriously-popular Ruslan Provodnikov.
You can hear everyone grumbling over selecting challenger the following, with Algieri being somewhat of a mystery thing away from die hard groups of punching fans. But when he hasn't got an extensive background towards the top amount, Algieri brings some constructive points to the desk. He or she is unbeaten, calmly-confident, and has a powerful figure. It seemed like his struggle with Provodnikov would lead to the initial spherical. Algieri took an average left and the attention swelled up quickly. Algieri was lowered double. It examined. But Algieri rallied and served the gain to be a big underdog. That really demonstrated anything.
From your hand techniques point of view, Algieri also has a few things as part of his repertoire that may help him towards Pacquiao. He could be extra tall at 510 and has now numerous speed of hand and foot. He could use his period and velocity to great impact towards Pacquiao. Along with the 30-years old Prolonged Islander isn't the kind to collapse rapidly. You really have to overcom him right down to cease him. In 20 pro kickboxing spats and 20 far more seasoned punching matches, your boyfriend is under no circumstances been beaten. Pinning the very first T on the dude is never straightforward.
But sadly, there are some aspects of concern with Algieri as he normally takes this enormous improve in foe good quality. With Pacquiao, the matter you are worried most about is strength and Algieri has almost no than it. He could be also upgrading to welterweight from jr welterweight and while Manny is seldom what you should contact a big welterweight, its something more important to consider when evaluating Algieris likelihood. Algieris finest asset is pace, but that's another shining portion of Pacquiaos sport. And Mannys velocity is certainly not with the pitty-shell out assortment. His acceleration compatible power, whilst Algieris quickness is much more of any shoeshine sort of quickness.
Algieri does take a huge step up in college to get rid of a martial artist in Provodnikov who had been on the very good manage of quarrels. But against, Algieri, Provodnikov was much too particular regarding his bothersome productivity. Nevertheless he would be a huge underdog and then he receives complete credit rating for that improbable win, Algieri performed make use of getting together with a enemy whose diamond ring Intelligence quotient is certainly not that high. And much of men and women still do not feel Algieri well deserved the divide determination in addition to their place is not without value.
Pacquiao is usually a various idea entirely. The Filipino legend could be the full package deal offensively, even only at that sophisticated point of his profession. He has the velocity to fit Algieri and the power to deter him. Pacquiaos criminal offense is just a much bigger complex than Provodnikovs additional prehistoric style of fighting and the inteligence and quickness of Algieri will for that reason have a lesser unquestionable affect on this opponent. Its going to be hard for Algieri to outwit Pacquiao. She got aside from it resistant to the neo-cerebral Provodnikov, but Pacquiaos encounter has made it so they know what hes accomplishing inside the engagement ring--to a far greater amount than Algieri.
Pacquiao has revealed, specifically in currently being the first one to legally overcom Timothy Bradley in the past deal with, that he will not be what he used to be, but ben has even now the most effective mma fighters in the world. All over again, the sole thing you are able to criticize him about in the diamond ring during the last decade boils down to just one strike he took from your uncomplicated Hallway of Celebrity jet fighter in Marquez. Once you place that facing all he has done, is it truly such a big deal?
This can be a game the location where the benefits steam across the the styles of the practitioners. Even though stuff like vitality and quickness usually difficulties growing older practitioners including the almost 36-year-old Pacquiao, Algieri only doesn't have enough expert on his blows to reduce the aggression of Pacman. Its ambiguous what Algieri are able to do to carry over however extra-unsafe Philippine. Great hip and legs and scalp action only go until now. It was wonderful that Algieri surely could bounce up to a higher course and defeat Provodnikov, but you need to know, Provodnikov and Pacquiao are incredibly distinct, its as if they are really playing sports.
Algieri has many shape. Your boyfriend is a consummate skilled who becomes the most from what she has. He is a smart candy bar and cannot be disregarded. Ideal situation predicament, his duration and velocity preserve Manny under control adequately for Algieri to grab fits and attempt to squeak home a success, regarding his nose area onward with the insert. That's the most effective scenario circumstance, but there are numerous other cases that dont bode nicely for Algieri. His significant proficiency and courage allows an entertaining struggle, but one that can turn out to be significantly one-sided as the units go by. Because of the seventh or 5th circular, seek out Pacquiao to get rid of issues, to be a southpaw quit will come ramming home to end an excellent and rapid-paced fight.

Amir Khan vs. Lamont Peterson on December 10th on HBO
WASHINGTON DC, October 6 - With two wins over Paul McCloskey and Zab Judah already in the books this year, Unified Super Lightweight World Champion Amir "King" Khan will look to end 2011 with a bang on Saturday, December 10, when he travels to Washington, DC for "Capital Showdown," a 12-round unified championship fight against mandatory International Boxing Federation (IBF) challenger and hometown hero Lamont "Havoc" Peterson at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, which will be televised on HBO's World Championship Boxing in the United States. In a featured undercard attraction, undefeated heavyweight contender Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell of Brandywine, Maryland will return to the DC-area for the first time since April of 2010 to face an opponent to be determined.
"I'm looking forward to returning to the United States to face a worthy challenger like Lamont Peterson," said Khan. "I always said that I wanted to be active and a true World Champion and I will prove it again on December 10. I know Lamont is a strong contender but it doesn't matter that I'm fighting him in his backyard, I'm coming in as the champion and will leave as the champion."
"I'm very happy for my chance to fight for a world title again," said Peterson. "I'm sure Khan will train hard to defend his titles, so I will train harder to take his titles. Winning a world title in my home town is a dream come true."
"We are excited to bring this big night of boxing to our nation's capital and to feature a young, powerful and hungry world champion like Amir Khan against a top-flight contender such as Lamont Peterson who will have his hometown fans cheering him on towards reaching his championship dreams," said Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions. "This is going to be a great fight and a fantastic way to end the 2011 championship boxing season."
"Amir has always been adamant that he wants to face the very best in his division and in Lamont Peterson, he is doing just that by taking on an extremely dangerous opponent in his own backyard," said Asif Vali of Khan Promotions. "I have no doubt Amir will be more than ready for this challenge and will put on yet another glittering display for all of his fans."
"Amir Khan is one of the most spectacular fighters in the world and we're thrilled to see him return on World Championship Boxing," said Kery Davis, HBO Sports Senior Vice President of Programming. "This showdown with Lamont Peterson in the nation's capital will be an exciting night on the network. It's a thrill for HBO to be back in Washington for the first time since 1993."
"Capital Showdown: Khan vs. Peterson," a 12-round Unified Super Lightweight World Title Fight for Khan's WBA World Super Championship and IBF World Championship, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Khan Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate, AT&T and DeWalt Tools. The HBO World Championship Boxing telecast begins at 9:45 p.m. ET/ 6:45 p.m. PT.
One of boxing's best, Unified Super Lightweight World Champion Amir "King" Khan (26-1, 18 KO's) has gone from amateur sensation to approaching the top of boxing's pound for pound list in the span of just seven years. A Silver Medalist for England at the 2004 Athens Olympics, the pride of Bolton's began his professional journey in 2005 as one of the most visible athletes in the United Kingdom. He handled the attention and pressure with grace, winning all but one of his first 20 bouts. In March of 2009, he made his first inroads on the international scene with a five round win over Mexico's future Hall of Famer Marco Antonio Barrera and in his next fight just four months later, he became a world champion with a decision victory over Andriy Kotelnik that earned him the WBA Super Lightweight World Title. After stoppages of Dmitriy Salita and former World Champion Paulie Malignaggi, Khan engaged in the 2010 Fight of the Year, when he decisioned Marcos Maidana on December 11. The 24-year-old champion has been just as impressive so far in 2011, defending his title in April with a win over previously unbeaten Paul McCloskey in front of a packed house at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, and then added the IBF crown to his trophy case with a fifth round knockout over former World Champion Zab Judah. Khan knows the only way to stay at the top is to keep facing the top talent out there, and that is exactly what he will get in number one rated contender Peterson on December 10.
Lamont "Havoc" Peterson (29-1-1, 15 KO's) is a supremely skilled boxer with the fighting heart that allowed him to not only win 29 of 31 professional bouts, but also survive a harrowing childhood that left him and his brother Anthony homeless on the streets of Washington, DC. By the age of 10, the Petersons found refuge in a local boxing gym and Lamont quickly showed the talent that has led him to this championship bout. A 2001 National Golden Gloves champion and a National Amateur Champion in 2003, Peterson turned professional in 2004 and impressively won his first 27 bouts. In April of 2009, he won the WBO Interim Junior Welterweight World Title with a technical knockout over Willy Blain, but eight months later he would lose his only fight when he was decisioned by undefeated Timothy Bradley. In December of 2010, Peterson battled future Welterweight World Champion Victor Ortiz to a 10 round draw, and on July 29 of this year, the 27-year-old earned a shot at Khan with a 12th round knockout over Victor Manuel Cayo in an IBF elimination bout. He is ready for the challenge Khan will bring, but is confident his hometown crowd will give him the extra push to take Khan's crown.
Seth "Mayhem" Mitchell (23-0-1, 17 KO's) is the jolt of energy and excitement that the division has been looking for. Since his last bout in the area in April of 2010 (a third round technical knockout over Ryan Thompson), the 29-year-old former Michigan State college football standout has gone from rising star to top contender, winning seven bouts in a row, all by knockout. In 2011 alone, Charles Davis (second round technical knockout), Evans Quinn (first round knockout) and Hector Ferreyro (third round technical knockout) have all tasted defeat at Mitchell's hands and he expects to make another statement on December 10 in front of his hometown fans in Washington DC.
NEWS - Historic day for GB Boxing as 3 make it into tomorrow's World Championship Finals
THREE members of the GB Boxing squad have made it into tomorrow’s finals after another historic day for Great Britain at the World Championships in Baku.
Luke Campbell, Andrew Selby and Anthony Joshua all made it through today’s semis to guarantee silver medals and compete for gold tomorrow. Tom Stalker had to settle for bronze and qualification for the London 2012 Olympics after losing out to Denys Berinchyk from the Ukraine.
Boxers from Great Britain have only ever won one previous gold medal at the World Championships, when Frankie Gavin triumphed in the lightweight category in Chicago in 2007.
Following his victory on count-back after the scores finished 12-12, Hull’s Luke Campbell said: "It was a close one but I always thought I did enough, and I was counting the score in the last one and thought I won it by a couple. All credit to John Joe, he's a great competitor, and has qualified for his second Olympics. I'll be going to my first, and now I've got a World Championship final to look forward to and I can't wait. It’s been a brilliant week for the whole team, and I just want to top it off and bring the gold back home."
Wales’ Andrew Selby added: "I was always confident I'd win even when the coaches told me I was behind after the first. I thought he'd tire, and I'm in great shape and just went in and enjoyed myself, threw a few shots, and a few of them hit so I felt pretty good. I've got the Russian in the final and I boxed him earlier in the year, but I'm a different boxer now. I'm doing the weight well, scoring points and feeling good so it would be nice to pick up the gold and get my place at the Olympics".
Tomorrow’s finals will start at 10.00 BST and can be viewed at www.gbsports.tv and on Sky channel 456.
Details of all today’s bouts are below:
56kg: Luke Campbell v John Joe Nevin (Ireland)
Luke wins 12-12 (count-back)
Luke Campbell goes into the final with the narrowest of wins against the Irishman. This was a close affair throughout with both boxers standing off waiting for the chink in their opponent's armour. Luke edged ahead in the first, and looked to have edged the second too, but with the scorecards level at the end of round 2, it was nip and tuck in the last, but Campbell came out on top and secures his place in the final with a deserved win.
64kg: Tom Stalker v Denys Berinchyk (Ukraine)
Tom lost 31-18
It wasn't to be today for Tom. The powerful Ukrainian came forwards from the off, and Stalker, despite scoring with a range of good shots, couldn't keep his opponent at bay. The lead opened up to 6 at the end of the second, and this proved too much to retrieve for Tom.
52kg: Andrew Selby v Jasurbek Latipov (Uzbekistan)
Andrew wins 21-15
Another superlative display from the Barry Town boxer secured his place in the final of these World Championships. Despite going in down at the end of the first round, Andrew kept his cool and trusted his raw natural ability to outbox and outsmart his Uzbeki opponent. Commanding the ring, he brought Latipov onto his shot scoring with an eye-catching range of shots. Overturning the first round deficit and accelerating away to a comprehensive 21-15 victory.
91+kg: Anthony Joshua v Erik Pfeifer (Germany)
Anthony wins RSCI
Anthony, in only his second senior international tournament, having qualified for the Olympic Games, has now reached the final of World Championships. There is little more to say about the bout than the strength of big Josh's early punches gave the German the bloodiest of noses, and after being reprieved by the doctor once, the referee brought the bout to an end when the doctor was called into action again.
ROY ENGLEBRECHT SIGNS HEAVYWEIGHT PROSPECT
NEWPORT BEACH, CA - Despite nearly three decades of excellence in the fight game, there is just one thing renowned fight promoter Roy Englebrecht hasn't done.
Until now.
For the first time, Englebrecht has signed an exclusive five year promotional contract with a professional boxer, and considering the positive notices unbeaten 21-year old heavyweight prospect Alexander "The Great" Flores has recently received, the decision was a no-brainer.
Alex Flores
"Alexander Flores has a million dollar smile, the looks of a GQ Model, and the talent to bring new life into the heavyweight division," said Englebrecht. "I am thrilled that Alex and his manager and trainer Michael Love made the decision to let us be part of Team Flores and help shape his future in the heavyweight division. Besides being a good prospect, he is a perfect fit for our Fight Club OC shows, as he has the look and excitement that our fans enjoy. Move over Oscar De La Hoya and Sergio Martinez, there is another candidate to take away your title as "Best Looking Fighter in the Business!"
"We are very excited to now partner with Roy Englebrecht, his matchmaker Whit Haydon, his marketing manager Drew Englebrecht, and really his entire team," said Flores and Love. "We realize that it is rare that Roy puts his name behind a fighter and that's a testament of the type of fighter Alex is and Roy and Whit's belief in him. We decided on going with Roy Englebrecht Events due to the comfort we felt in our meetings and subsequent conversations. With Roy Englebrecht Events we felt that more care would be placed in handling Alex's career due to the fact that they were not promoting so many fighters. Plus, we wanted to deal with a promotional company that has years of experience behind them, and just attend a Fight Club OC show to see the big time way that Roy promotes his shows."
Hailing from Rowland Heights, California, 6-5, 225 pound Alexander "The Great" Flores (5-0, 3 KOs) didn't spend much time in the amateur ranks, but after compiling an impressive 14-2 record and winning the Southern California Golden Gloves, he took his skills to the professional arena, debuting with a second round knockout of Antonio Robertson on March 19, 2010. In 2011, with three wins already under his belt, Flores upped his level of competition and didn't skip a beat, as he defeated highly-touted former University of Miami football star Quadtrine Hill in April, and followed that victory up with a third round knockout of Serhiy Karpenko. And with his looks, power, and charisma, there is a heavyweight buzz around Flores that hasn't been felt in the Los Angeles area in years, something Englebrecht and his team noticed right away. So expect to see him all around the Southern California area in the coming years as he continues his march to a world championship.
Alex and gangfrom left: Michael Love Alex Flores' Manager/Trainer, Alex Flores, Whit Haydon Roy Englebrecht Promotions Matchmaker and Roy Englebrecht
"To say I am excited is an understatement," said Roy Englebrecht's matchmaker Whit Haydon. "Alex Flores has length and youth on his side and at just 21 years of age has every right to have an excellent career, plus he brings several intangibles which are not easily found. The level of comfort in the ring and seeming understanding of his identity as a fighter is not typical for a guy with an abbreviated amateur career. Having seen four of his five pro fights, he has matured by leaps and bounds with every fight, and he really grows on you."
Flores will make his debut as a Roy Englebrecht fighter on the undercard of the October 27th Manny Pacquiao & Top Rank promoted show at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino, facing Phoenix's tough Chad Davis, who in August lost a tough split decision to 5-0 Russian heavyweight Medzkid Bektemirov. Flores will then make his Orange County debut on Thursday, December 1st on Roy Englebrecht Promotions premier Fight Club OC series show at The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center, where he will face top Japanese heavyweight Massataka Takehara who at 6-5 lost a tough battle in August in Tacoma to 8-0 Vincent Thompson.

Video: Mayweather vs Ortiz Weigh In
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (41-0, 25 KO) takes his perfect record into the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night. Standing in the way of Floyd picking up his forty-second win is WBC world welterweight champion, Victor Ortiz. Both men appeared at the official weigh-ins attempting to hit the 147 pound mark. The two men meet in the main event on HBO pay-per-view.
Mayweather, the much more experienced man, hit the scales and weighed 146.5 pounds. Half a pound under the welterweight limit, Floyd looked solid and comfortable in the weight class he has fought in for several years.
While many are still clamoring for Floyd to face Manny Pacquiao, he needs to get by a stiff test in Ortiz first.
Mayweather Vs. Ortiz Weigh-In Results: Victor Ortiz At 147 Pounds
WBC world welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO) will look to become the first ever man to defeat Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (41-0, 25 KO) on Saturday night. The two men meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada Saturday night on HBO pay-per-view. Ortiz is looking to finish the redemption story that started with quitting in the ring against Marcos Maidana. Ortiz turned his career around with a huge decision win over Andre Berto earlier this year.
Ortiz, weighing in as a welterweight for only the second time, hit the 147 welterweight limit exactly. Ortiz looked lean and ready for the fight and seemed in good spirits, not drawn out in any way.
He’ll get his chance to make history tomorrow evening.

Mayweather vs Ortiz Weigh-In: Streaming Live at 5:30 p.m. EDT
Today at 5:30 p.m. EDT/2:30 p.m. PDT, Bad Left Hook will have live coverage of the Mayweather vs Ortiz weigh-in from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for tomorrow's big pay-per-view event. Thanks to Yahoo!, we'll also be able to give you the stream directly here, in the player below.
Mayweather (41-0, 25 KO) and Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO) will be fighting for Ortiz's WBC welterweight title tomorrow night on HBO pay-per-view. Also on the card, Erik Morales faces Pablo Cesar Cano for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title; Josesito Lopez and Jessie Vargas meet in a 140-pound, 10-round bout; and from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez defends his WBC junior middleweight belt against Alfonso Gomez.
We'll see what kind of turnout there is for the weigh-in today. Some fights can pack the place for the weigh-in, but there's a lot of talk that this fight hasn't captured the local audience much at all, with expensive ticket prices that have led to the MGM trying to comp tickets to people by calling them and attempting to convince them to attend the fight for free. This isn't the most unusual practice or anything, but for a fight like this it shouldn't be happening at that level.
But either way, we're here for the weigh-in at 5:30, and we can gauge the atmosphere then and see how everyone looks a day out from the fights.
