Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Victor Ortiz full fight replay part 1 round 1

Video: Mayweather vs Ortiz Weigh In

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (41-0, 25 KO) takes his perfect record into the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night. Standing in the way of Floyd picking up his forty-second win is WBC world welterweight champion, Victor Ortiz. Both men appeared at the official weigh-ins attempting to hit the 147 pound mark. The two men meet in the main event on HBO pay-per-view.

Mayweather, the much more experienced man, hit the scales and weighed 146.5 pounds. Half a pound under the welterweight limit, Floyd looked solid and comfortable in the weight class he has fought in for several years.

While many are still clamoring for Floyd to face Manny Pacquiao, he needs to get by a stiff test in Ortiz first.

Mayweather Vs. Ortiz Weigh-In Results: Victor Ortiz At 147 Pounds

WBC world welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO) will look to become the first ever man to defeat Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (41-0, 25 KO) on Saturday night. The two men meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada Saturday night on HBO pay-per-view. Ortiz is looking to finish the redemption story that started with quitting in the ring against Marcos Maidana. Ortiz turned his career around with a huge decision win over Andre Berto earlier this year.

Ortiz, weighing in as a welterweight for only the second time, hit the 147 welterweight limit exactly. Ortiz looked lean and ready for the fight and seemed in good spirits, not drawn out in any way.

He’ll get his chance to make history tomorrow evening.

Mayweather vs Ortiz Weigh-In: Streaming Live at 5:30 p.m. EDT

Today at 5:30 p.m. EDT/2:30 p.m. PDT, Bad Left Hook will have live coverage of the Mayweather vs Ortiz weigh-in from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for tomorrow's big pay-per-view event. Thanks to Yahoo!, we'll also be able to give you the stream directly here, in the player below.

Mayweather (41-0, 25 KO) and Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO) will be fighting for Ortiz's WBC welterweight title tomorrow night on HBO pay-per-view. Also on the card, Erik Morales faces Pablo Cesar Cano for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title; Josesito Lopez and Jessie Vargas meet in a 140-pound, 10-round bout; and from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez defends his WBC junior middleweight belt against Alfonso Gomez.

We'll see what kind of turnout there is for the weigh-in today. Some fights can pack the place for the weigh-in, but there's a lot of talk that this fight hasn't captured the local audience much at all, with expensive ticket prices that have led to the MGM trying to comp tickets to people by calling them and attempting to convince them to attend the fight for free. This isn't the most unusual practice or anything, but for a fight like this it shouldn't be happening at that level.

But either way, we're here for the weigh-in at 5:30, and we can gauge the atmosphere then and see how everyone looks a day out from the fights.
